　　英國(guó)健康保護(hù)機(jī)構(gòu)將于1月11日向全國(guó)兒童發(fā)出慎用手機(jī)的警告。

　　One of the Government"s leading public health advisers will give a warning tomorrow that children should only use mobile phones for essential calls until doubts over potential health hazards have been resolved.

　　英國(guó)健康保護(hù)機(jī)構(gòu)將于1月11日向全國(guó)兒童發(fā)出慎用手機(jī)的警告。

　　據(jù)英國(guó)《每日電訊報(bào)》1月10日?qǐng)?bào)道，英國(guó)公共衛(wèi)生專家日前指出，雖然目前還不能明確判斷手機(jī)輻射是否對(duì)人體健康產(chǎn)生危害，但兒童還是應(yīng)盡量避免使用手機(jī)。英國(guó)健康保護(hù)機(jī)構(gòu)主席兼國(guó)家輻射保護(hù)部主席威廉·斯圖爾特爵士將于11日再次呼吁公眾遠(yuǎn)離手機(jī)輻射。這將是斯圖爾特爵士自2000年以來(lái)第2次向人們發(fā)出慎用手機(jī)的警告。

　　斯圖爾特爵士表示，盡管目前還沒(méi)有確切的證據(jù)表明手機(jī)輻射對(duì)人體有害，但由于越來(lái)越多的小學(xué)生都開(kāi)始使用手機(jī)，這讓人擔(dān)心手機(jī)可能存在的潛在危害將對(duì)孩子的健康發(fā)育不利。去年的一份調(diào)查顯示，英國(guó)的四分之一7歲至10歲兒童擁有手機(jī)，比2001年的調(diào)查數(shù)字增加1倍.

　　Sir William Stewart, chairman of both the Health Protection Agency and the National Radiation Protection Board, will reiterate his previous demands that the public should have better access to information about handset emission levels.

　　With the NRPB, a statutory body that provides public information on radiation hazards, issuing new advice on mobiles tomorrow, Sir William is expected to make clear his frustration that precautionary steps recommended by an official inquiry that he chaired five years ago have been ignored.

　　He will say there is no clear evidence that mobiles phones are harmful, but will express concern that a significant proportion of primary school-age children now regularly use them while there are still question marks over potential health hazards.

　　A survey carried out last year showed that a quarter of children aged from seven to 10 owned mobiles – double the proportion of 2001.(：夏根建)
